FISHKILL PLAINS MEETING MINUTES
October 23, 2002


The meeting was called to order at 7:43 p.m.

Treasurer’s Report:  Karen Lynch reported that all is looking good.  If you would like to get reimbursed for things you have purchased for the PTA, please fill out the form in the PTA box, attach receipts, and forward it to her.

Correspondence Report:  Nothing to report.

Council Rep. Report:  N/A

Principal’s Report:  Mrs. Epstein reported that the Healthy Steps Program was a great success!  Fishkill Plains walked a total of 4,437 miles.  A big thank you from Mr. Pikor.  Our mums garden looks beautiful and will bloom every year.  The benches look great out in front of the school.  They were paid for by Box Tops for Education…keep collecting those boxtops!

Teacher Liaison Report:  N/A

New Business:  A big THANK YOU to Laurie Brown for putting together the Student Directory.  She did a super great job!

Fall Fundraiser:  Merchandise will be available when the teacher conferences are in session.  Please remember to pick up your things.

Room Parent Tea:  The day went great and ran very smoothly.

Membership:  Lisa Ruvo reported we only have 190 members and not all teachers are enrolled.

Resolution Convention:  Karen Lynch will represent Fishkill Plains at convention.

Fall Conference:  Marisol Beigert represented Fishkill Plains.  She explained that the meeting included what should be happening with our PTA and by-laws and we are doing fine.

Co-Op Babysitting:  Colleen Croce gave us a handout to read explaining the program.

Programs:  Barbara Greenberg reported on her first program of the year: Mozart.  Everyone seemed to enjoy it.  She has a Health program coming up in November and a Science program coming up in December.

School Pictures:  This was October 22.

Family Fun Night:  This will be held Friday, October 25.

Galleria Coordinator:  Monica Freer will co-chair (looking for another co-chair).  This is to display our art at Galleria Mall.

Craft Fair:  Karen Carroll reported all is going well.  It will be Nov. 2nd and please call her if you can volunteer.

Veterans Day:  This will be held Nov. 8 and we need volunteers for candle lighting on November 10.

School Spirit:  Donna Long showed us the merchandise and all looks great!  An order form is going home.

Red Ribbon Week:  This is the week of October 28-November 1.  The children will wear their red ribbons every day.

Book Fair:  This will be held on the half-days of the teacher conferences.  November 15, 18 and 19.

Holiday Shop:  This will take place on December 6 from 6:00pm-9:00pm.
