Nominations:   Nominations were as follows and there were no additional nominees, so this is the board for next year:

Andrea Corbet, VP of Committees
Jeanette Krauss, Treasurer
Dana D'Amico, Recording Secretary
Tina Burke, Corresponding Secretary

Volunteer Positions  will be formatted next year with the description next to the check box to sign up for Chairperson and Volunteering.  We are hoping this will make it more user friendly so we will get more volunteers.

Fifth grade moving up:  Sherri McNamara and Debbie Calabro  will be in charge of the breakfast:  Bagels, fruit,...

Memorials: Concrete/Resin Benches were purchased for Adam Kaplan and Joseph Avis.   They each have a metal plaque.

Flag Day: Flag Day will be June 13.

Budget Vote is tomorrow May 20th.  Please vote.

End of Year Money:  A discussion was held; opinions were varied.    Options mentioned:
--We should eliminate this donation since the money is not readily available to give.
--Use the money toward a healthy snack (Wellness).
--Wait for the budget vote since the money may be needed to fill in if budget does not pass.
--Fund raisers may not bring in as much money next Sept. as the economy is now, so hold on to the PTA money and eliminate the donation.
--Each grade should be given $100 to put toward their end of year "Fun Day" or supplies or books for their rooms or something for the children's benefit.
--Indoor Rock Climbing wall 8 foot by 8 foot for ages 4 and up is about $1500.  This may be purchased by PTA in lieu of the end of year donation.  This would be installed in the gym and would only be used while supervised by the gym teachers using safety equipment; this would not be 'play ground' equipment for the children's unsupervised use.
--Wait to see how the budget situation is and ask the teachers for a list of items they would like help with from the PTA

Programs:    Programs for 2008-2009 need to be organized and booked.

Yearbooks. As per Andrea Corbett, Yearbooks will be available for sale at moving up
day.  We sold about 300 books which is average, many of which were
personalized.

Folders for students.  Peggy presented printed folders for students as
an Idea.  Would like to have printed and presented as a Welcome back to
School filled w/ important papers, memos etc... to be distributed on first
day of school.  Lisa Ruvo brought up 2 issues 1) many of the important
memos are not available before the first day of school so it may not be
possible to stuff them prior also 2) Manpower needed to stuff them before
school may be difficult.  Will re-visit other options.  Folders are nice
idea!

Volunteer get together thank you  - date is still pending

Fundraiser ideas are being discussed.  Peggy has several books for
review and is soliciting input.

There is a Summer conference in Utica if anyone is interested in
attending - let Peggy know.

Kindergarten Picnic was not discussed

Ways to recruit new parents was not discussed

Please encourage neighbors/friends/other parents  to come to the meetings.

Meeting was adjourned at 5:15pm.
