Jeff McCoy of RMTechnical (http://www.rmtechnical.com/ )   discussed internet safety and had some very useful handouts.  There are countless horror stories of children being victimized via the internet and as parents, you need to educate yourself, talk with your children, have the computer in a common area, set ground rules and enforce them.   He explained how there are various safeguards such as the SnoopStick that will allow you to monitor what is going on  on your child's computer (i.e. websites visited, instant messages, web-based e-mail To: From: Subject: ).  Consider you and your child signing an online internet safety contract, available at many of the Links below.  Jeff is willing to speak to any group; just contact him HelpMe@RMTechnical.com  or  223-3070.
