Fishkill Plains Elementary School was built in 1955 and is located in a rural area of Dutchess County, New York, along Lake Walton Road. Because of its pastoral charm, it happens to be the fastest growing area of the county, convenient to all major roads and shopping centers yet within the midst of several farms, streams, and lakes.

It has managed to maintain its small town appeal with a strong child-centered faculty and administration, headed by its principal, Sylvia Epstein. An added plus is the very supportive and involved PTA, offering the students varied programs that complement the excellent academic education they receive at Fishkill Plains. Presently, the student population hovers around 600 students in grades K to 5.
