After visiting some classrooms, it was then off to the assembly for the fourth and fifth graders and Astronaut Kregel presented his slide show and video regarding his space shuttle adventures and life as an astronaut. The children sat mesmerized listening to Astronaut Kregel. The next part was truly one the children would not forget...they could ask him any questions they wanted. They ranged from how do you go to the bathroom to when do you sleep?
Astronaut Kregel answered every question with honesty and a little humor and the children could not get enough! He is a truly remarkable and enjoyable person and we thank him so much for making this trip to our school. Considering NASA gets thousands of requests per year, we feel honored. It was a memorable day at Fishkill Plains and one that our children will long remember!
