Newspaper ClubNewspaper Club
The Oak Grove Newspaper Club is open
to fifth graders and meets every Thursday at 8:00 AM. Club advisors
are Mrs. Weinrich and Mrs. Haussermann. The club publishes three
school newspapers a year. The publication is called "The
Oak Leaf." Some of these topics included in the publication
are book or movie reviews, reports on school events, or "funsy"
or creative pieces. Reporters interview teachers to find out about
what's happening in various classrooms and share their findings
in the Classroom Capers section of the paper. The newspaper is
distributed to the teachers and students in our school. "The
Oak Leaf" is an excellent way to learn to work with others
and to improve writing, editing, and interviewing skills.
