Tips for Successful Parent Conferences
November Parent Teacher Conferences
are coming up at Oak Grove Elementary School. Here are a few tips
to help make your conference a successful and pleasant one.
Before the Conference:
- Ask your child if there is
anything special you should ask the teacher.
- If there are any family problems
that may be affecting your child, decide what information should
be shared with the teacher.
- Make a list of what you really
want the teacher to know about your child, as well as any questions
you have.
At the conference:
- Tell the teacher the specific
things about your child that he/she may need to know, and ask
your questions.
- You may want to ask how your
child gets along with others, if he/she volunteers in class,
etc.
- Ask the teacher if there are
specific things that you can help with at home.
- Use the three P's: Be POSITIVE,
PLEASANT, PROMPT!
