A community volunteer group is offering free math tutoring and homework assistance to students in Grades 4 – 8.  The sessions will be from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesdays at Van Wyck JHS.  Please consult the calendar of dates at the end of this letter for the session meeting dates.  All WCSD students in grades 4 – 8 are welcome to attend any of the sessions listed.  No sign-up is necessary.

Students attending these sessions are expected to bring their homework or test questions, and have their textbooks.  The students will be helped on a first-come, first-serve basis, and every effort will be made to help all students who attend a session.  Only students participating in the math help program and their parents/guardians will be permitted into the sessions.  Please take care to have your child report to the appropriate room.  Students “waiting for their friends” must wait outside the school building.

Students do not need to register for a particular session but do need to bring a signed permission slip to the first session they attend.  (Click here for a copy of this form).  Parents need to provide or arrange for their student’s transportation to and from each session.  If parents choose, they can wait or arrange with their child to return at a fixed time.
