At this time of the school year we often reflect upon how thankful we are for the many positive people that have come into our lives. I have been truly grateful for having the opportunity to work with each of you at John Jay High School! As a school community we have shared a great deal of success and have been able to bring solutions to a variety of problems .I have decided to leave John Jay and accept a position as principal in a Westchester school district starting on July 1, 2008!
To the students we should all be very proud of our academic success as well as the success we experienced with our extra-curricular clubs, activities and inter-scholastic athletic teams. I have sat down with many of you over the last five years and worked collaboratively as I would work with any other adult. You truly exhibit a maturity level and understanding of situations that is beyond your years.
To our faculty, a Principal couldnŐt ask for a better gift. Since my arrival here at Jay I have had nothing but your true commitment, dedication and support on any and all issues. A principal could not ask for a more professional and qualified staff. I would like to simply say thank you for being there for our students and administration during the past five years.
I would like to also thank our support staff including our secretarial staff, school resource officer, school safety officers, custodians, monitors, teaching assistants and cafeteria workers for their hard work and dedication.
To the parents of the John Jay community, I would like to thank you for your continued support on issues that we have collaborated on during our time together. Also for entrusting me with your child on a daily basis.
On a personal note I would like to wish you a safe and happy summer with your family.
You guys are simply the best!
